Barry is a partner in the Technology group of William Fry. Barry is internationally recognised as a leading expert in the area of AI law. He advises clients on issues relating to text and data mining, AI copyright infringement, machine learning, and AI ownership. He has expertise in AI-specific contracts, licences, and dataset agreements. Barry specialises in advising on the AI Act and other legislation such as the DSA and GDPR from an AI compliance perspective.
Barry was appointed by the Irish Government to Ireland’s AI Advisory Council; has recently completed the writing stage of his PhD on AI and copyright; and is a member of the Law Society of Ireland’s IP & Technology Committee.
Allan Russell is the Head of AI & Automation for Musgrave Ltd, bringing a wealth of experience and passion to his role. With a Bachelor's and Master's in Business Information Systems from UCC, he embarked on a diverse career journey that has shaped his expertise in automation and AI solutions. After graduation, Allan spent two years in Dublin as a contractor, honing his skills as a project manager, business analyst, and tester. After the 2008 recession, Allan moved to Sydney, spending nearly a decade at Macquarie Bank in agile development. Returning to Ireland, he became Head of Consumer Data at Musgrave, then IT Director at PCH International, where he led automation and AI initiatives globally. Allan completed an Executive MBA from UCC and rejoined Musgrave in 2023. Outside of work, he enjoys family time, GAA, reading, and baking.
John is the Director of Innovation and RGSW International at the Royal Grammar School Worcester Family of Schools. John also teaches History, is an Apple Distinguished Educator and Assistant Head at the Senior School. John ensures that the four RGS Worcester Schools remain at the forefront of digital strategy and continue to offer world-leading, digital teaching and learning.John has experience working in the state, independent and international sectors and regularly delivers presentations on AI, EdTech, CPD, digital strategy, leadership and management. He has written for publications such as the TES, BETT Newsletter and Independent Schools Magazine and holds an MA in Educational Leadership and Management.John has a firm understanding of the incredible difference leadership, research and innovation can make to teaching and learning and has a proven track record of successfully project-managing shifts in culture to ensure meaningful change.
